Description

This vibrant Picante Catsup transforms simple garden tomatoes into a bold, spicy condiment perfect for elevating everyday meals. Infused with the bright heat of serrano or jalapeño chiles, it offers a complex flavor profile balanced by the tang of cider vinegar and the warmth of cinnamon and dry mustard. The texture is smooth and rich, achieved through a long, slow simmer that concentrates the natural sweetness of the tomatoes. Ideal for topping meatloaf, burgers, or sandwiches, this vegan-friendly sauce adds a homemade touch to any meal. It stores beautifully in the freezer, making it an excellent way to preserve fresh tomato harvests for year-round enjoyment.

  8. Continue simmering for an additional hour.
  9. Remove from heat and puree until smooth.
  10. Pack into freezer containers, leaving 1/2 inch head space, and freeze.
