Heat milk in a saucepan.

Gradually stir in the cornmeal.

Let the mixture come to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook until the mixture thickens.

Remove from heat, add salt, butter and eggs, and stir well.

Stir in the baking powder.

Pour into a greased 1.1/2 quart baking dish, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Top with butter.

Serve directly from the baking dish or spoon into warmed dishes.
