  15. simmer 20-30 minutes,depending on size of apples.
  16. Baste 2-3 times with pan juices.
  17. To glaze apples,
  18. uncover when cooled,
  19. sprinkle top with an additional tbsp of sugar and
  20. place under broiler 3 inches from
  21. heat until lightly browned.
  22. Watch closely, as they brown very quickly.
  23. Serve warm, tepid or cold
