  1. l) 1 1/2 c Walnuts; chopped Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; set aside.
  2. Beat egg yolks and powdered sugar.
  3. Sift flour; add to egg yolk mixture.
  4. Add vanilla, salt and orange peel, if desired.
  5. Stir in walnuts.
  6. Fold in egg whites.
  7. Spoon into 10" tube pan.
  8. Bake @ 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
  9. Invert and cool before removing from pan
