Directions
-
Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
-
Place bacon slices on a microwave-safe plate and cook until crisp, or pan-fry until browned. Set aside to drain.
-
Heat oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Season beef steaks with salt, pepper, and beef bouillon. Sear steaks in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove steaks and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add chopped onion, celery, and sliced mushrooms. Saut until vegetables are tender and golden.
-
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
-
Add the can of mushroom gravy, water, basil, and rice to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the vegetables.
-
Return the seared steaks to the skillet, placing them on top of the vegetable mixture.
-
Sprinkle the stuffing mix evenly over the steaks.
-
Top with the cooked bacon slices.
-
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the stuffing is golden brown and the steaks are cooked to desired doneness.
-
Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Note
Ensure your skillet is oven-safe before placing it in the oven. If using a non-oven-safe pan, transfer the contents to a baking dish before baking.
For a richer flavor, you can substitute half the water with beef broth.
Wild rice takes longer to cook than regular rice. If using wild rice, consider pre-cooking it slightly or extending the baking time by 10 minutes to ensure it is tender.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave to maintain texture.
